FOOD DIARY: Monday, March 11th

As is a general rule around the Johnson house here in Leeming the meal after a food blowout like our meal with John and Jeongsookis a simple one therefore Diane made a simple pasta with penne, eggplant and tomato sauce.

Also as is our wont we had a green salad.

Our beverage of choice was also an old favourite: Illuminati Riparosso, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.

Matching the country of origin for the food with a wine from that country  is always something for which I try to aim.  I don’t particularly enjoy fancy food or the fancy wine that goes with it.  The Italians call the food that I enjoy the most Cucina Casalinga or family home cooking; nothing fancy just the food that people prepare at home–simple is best.
