FOOD DIARY: orecchiette with broccoli

Last night was Diane’s turn in the kitchen and as always we ate like kings, albeit Italian Kings.

She began our simple feast with some nibbles, the usual suspects: baby mushrooms, dried and her new olives and a piece of hard cheese to set it off.

Then she made orecchiette pasta with small pieces of broccoli and flavoured with anchovy and a bit of onion.

We shared the rest, a glass or two, of the too-young Houghton’s and a perfect evening was had by all two of us.
