FOOD DIARY: ragu bolognese con pasta gigli

Last night Diane made an excellent pasta meal that we had enjoyed only a little while ago: bolognese ragu with pasta gigli. Pasta gigli is a pasta shape from Tuscany and it is roughly shaped like the symbol of the city of florence: the lily.
It is a robust pasta and therefore, in my opinion, marries perfectly with this ragu sauce from Bologna and therefore provides for a very filling meal.
To accompany this strong pasta meal Diane made us a cleansing salad and the wine was a favourite: Riparosso, Montepulciano d’abruzzo. It was a perfect Italian meal!
